Lot 210: This extensive collection of over 5,400 pieces was purchased in 1953 from Godfrey Schirmer, President of the American National Bank, by the parents of its current owner in 1953. It is now being sold as a collection contained in nine albums and one other container.

Lot 68: German wax over composition shoulder head Portrait doll. Marked Holz masse (Cuno & Otto Dressel). Set blue glass eyes, open mouth with 4 teeth. Human hair ringlet style wig. Original antique cloth body with wax underarms and hands. Fancy composition painted heeled boots. Wearing a white cotton eyelet dress. Antique undergarments (some rust and age spots). Condition of wax good, no cracks or missing wax. Body has some old repairs. Gorgeous doll, rare to find in this original condition. Under Circa 1880 Height: 36 inches (92 cm) approx.                              


Lot 65: Solid domed French Papier Mache doll with original poupee kid suede like body, stitched fingers. Black painted hair soft curls around face. Black pupil-less glass enamel eyes, painted features, plump cheeks. Open mouth, two upper and two lower square bamboo teeth. Antique dress. Rare larger size. Good condition for age. Circa 1840 Height: 35 inches (89 cm) approx.


Lot 188: Kestner German Bisque Swivel Head Doll on bisque shoulder plate, L15 on back of head. Closed mounth, blue glass sleep eyes, multi-stroke eyebrows, painted upper and lower lashes, blonde mohair wig. Replacement pate. Kid torso, upper arms and legs. Antique dress with black lace. Right hand missing thumb. Dress is deteriorating. Generally in good condition. Rare swivel head in this size. Circa 1900 Height: 30 inches (76 cm) approx.

Lot 159: Burnished Golden Brown mohair bear with swivel head , black horizontal stitched nose and inverted Y mouth. Unusual rectangle gathered stitched ears. Original Amber glass eyes . Excelsior filled body, small hump, jointed arms and legs, shaped limbs Woven fabric pads possibly replacements. Four stitched toes on all paws. Functioning growler. Condition: Overall wear and loss of mohair, more so on lower legs. Left ankle has a repair. There is a small / hole or separation of fabric close to the disk at the back of his head. Unique and rare in this large size. Possibly American. Circa 1910. Height: 38 inches (97 cm) approx.

Lot 221: German, possibly Steiff. Light brown-golden short mohair plush bear with swivel head, black vertical stitched nose inverted Y mouth. Round stitched ears. Original black shoe button eyes. Excelsior stuffed body, small hump in back jointed arms and legs, shaped limbs. Light beige felt pads, no toes. Non-functional growler. Condition good minimal loss of mohair. Some repair and wear to felt pads. Early 20th Century. Height: 29 inches (74 cm) approx.

Lot 206: American Whirligig, wooden Uncle Sam type, on circular wooden stand. Tin high top hat, straw hair and beard. Painted blue tail jacket, gray pants holding red paddles. Original paint and paddles. Circa 1890 Height: 21 inches (53 cm) approx.

Lot 160: American Folk Art Black carved Pine wood Ventriloquist doll with articulated jaw. Mouth is manipulated with level in back of head. Carved features painted red lips with teeth. Black glass button like pupils accented in white. Detailed carved hands, cloth body and limbs stuffed with excelsior. Dressed in his original home made antique clothes, antique leather side button shoes. Black wool wig. A rare large size, in good condition for age. Late 19th Century. Height: 36 inches (92 cm)
